How to get a .ics URL for your calendar

General notes about .ics URLs

An ICS url should end with “.ics”

To test whether an ICS URL is working, when you paste it into the address bar of your browser and hit enter, it should trigger a download of a text file with a .ics extension.

If your .ics URL begins with “webcal://” change that to “https://”

Outlook calendar

In Calendar settings, you can publish your calendar so anyone can view your calendar or subscribe to it.

1. In Calendar view, select Settings > View all Outlook settings.
2. Select Calendar > Shared calendars.
3. Under Publish a calendar, choose which calendar you want to publish and how much detail people can see.
4. Select Publish.
5. If you choose an HTML link, recipients can copy and paste the URL in a browser to view your calendar in a new browser window. If you choose an ICS link, recipients can download the ICS file and import it into Outlook. This will add your events into their calendar, but recipients won’t automatically receive any updates to your calendar. Alternatively, recipients can use the ICS link to subscribe to your calendar through Outlook. They’ll see your calendar alongside their own and will automatically receive any updates to your calendar.

Once you have the ICS URL, here is how to setup a sync connection with an ICS URL

Google calendar

1. On your computer, open Google Calendar.
2. In the top right, click Settings > Settings.
3. On the left panel, under “Settings for my calendars,” click the name of the calendar you want to use.
4. Click Integrate calendar.
5. In the “Secret address in iCal format” section, copy the link.
6. Paste the link as directed by your other calendar application.

Once you have the ICS URL, here is how to setup a sync connection with an ICS URL

Apple / iCloud calendar

CalendarBridge has a built-in iCloud integration that connects with an Apple app-specific password. It is the better option in almost every case, because an ICS URL is a read-only, one-way feed:

• A connected iCloud account can be a source or a destination, and supports two-way sync. An ICS URL can only ever be a source.
• Connecting the account gives you every calendar in it. An ICS URL covers one calendar, and you would need a separate link for each.
• Nothing is made public. Publishing an iCloud calendar means anyone with the link can read it, and the link cannot be password protected.
• A connected account also works with schedulers, the unified calendar, and the AI Scheduling Assistant.

When you do need an Apple ICS URL

The ICS route still makes sense when the calendar is not yours to connect — a team, school, or club calendar someone published, or a calendar another person shared with you. In that case, whoever owns the calendar follows these steps and sends you the link.

On iCloud.com

1. Go to icloud.com/calendar and sign in with your Apple Account.
2. Hover over the calendar in the sidebar and click the Calendar Information button next to its name.
3. Turn on Public Calendar.
4. Click Copy to copy the link.

On iPhone or iPad

1. Open the Calendar app and tap Calendars at the bottom.
2. Tap the info button next to the calendar you want.
3. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link and copy it.

The link Apple gives you starts with “webcal://”. Change that to “https://” before you paste it into CalendarBridge — the rest of the URL stays exactly the same. Once it begins with https, pasting it into your browser downloads the .ics file, which is how you confirm it works.

Only iCloud calendars you own can be made public. A calendar someone else shared with you, or a subscribed holiday calendar, has no public link of its own — ask the owner for theirs.

Once you have the ICS URL, here is how to setup a sync connection with an ICS URL

Fastmail calendar

1. Open the Settings → Calendars screen.
2. Find the calendar in the list and click the Edit & share button.
3. Find the Publish section and click the toggle button next to Full event details or Free/busy information, depending on what information you wish to share.
4. A URL will be shown. You can copy this URL and give it to the people you wish to share your calendar data with. The URL will become active as soon as you click Save.

Once you have the ICS URL, here is how to setup a sync connection with an ICS URL

Protonmail calendar

1. Log in to Proton Calendar at calendar.proton.me.
2. Click Settings → All settings → Calendars, then select the calendar you wish to share. Or you can click the Settings icon next to the calendar.
3. Scroll to Share with anyone and select Create link.
4. Choose what those sharing your calendar will see:
   • Limited view: Shows when you’re busy but doesn’t show any event details.
   • Full view: Shows all the event details on your calendar to anyone with the link, including:
     • Title of the event and event description
     • Event participants
     • Location of the event
5. Proton Calendar will generate a URL link for your calendar. Click Copy link and share it (for example, by pasting it into an email or using it as a hyperlink on your website).

Once you have the ICS URL, here is how to setup a sync connection with an ICS URL

TeamSnap

TeamSnap does not show the calendar link on the schedule screen itself — you generate it in the web app, or have TeamSnap email it to you, and then paste it into CalendarBridge.

One team (go.teamsnap.com)

1. Log in to TeamSnap in a web browser. The mobile apps can subscribe your phone’s own calendar, but they do not show a link you can copy.
2. Click your roster name below the team name, then open the Schedule tab.
3. Click Settings, then Sync Calendar / Export.
4. Copy the internet calendar (iCal) link.

All of your teams in one feed

1. On the Dashboard, scroll to the bottom and click Go to My Full Schedule.
2. Click Subscribe/Export in the upper right.
3. Choose All games and events and copy the single internet calendar link. New teams you are added to later show up in this feed automatically.

TeamSnap ONE app

1. Open the app and go to the All Schedules tab.
2. Tap the calendar icon in the top right and choose Sync other calendar.
3. TeamSnap emails you a subscription link for each of your teams plus one for the all-teams schedule. Copy the link you want out of that email.

TeamSnap links usually begin with “webcal://”. Change that to “https://” before pasting it into CalendarBridge.

Creating your own .ics URL with CalendarBridge

Everything above is about finding the .ics URL a provider gives you. If what you actually need is to hand someone a link to your own calendar, CalendarBridge can produce one.
